We recognise that Burlesque is all about women feeling fabulous about themselves, regardless of age, shape, size or dance ability. Alongside Dusty Heels, Nikki and Kirsti opened the Ladies Night In at Jesmonds Holiday Inn on Friday. You rocked it girls!

Kirsti is the Director of Dance Northumberland.
She has been dancing from just 18 months old. Kirsti has studied with various well known London stage schools, as well as with private dance academies in Northumberland and was crowned Miss Entertainer in the year 2000.
Kirsti gained her qualifications with ISTD, but has also studied RAD and NESPA. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz, Hip Hop, Street Dance, and Freestyle and is a very versatile performer/teacher. As well as dance and fitness subjects such as Zumba and Pilates, Kirsti is an experienced choreographer and is trained in fire, stilts aerial hoop and many other circus skills.
She has also worked for cruise liners around the world travelling as far as Hong Kong where she was trained in aerial performance by the Cirque du Soleil, and is a trained vocalist through London College of Music and has performed with artists such as Sonique, Run DMC, S Club 7, David Essex, the Tweenies and Banana's in Pijamas whilst also playing lead roles in Newcastle, Durham and London in many shows and musicals.
Nikki
Hailing from Ashington, Nikki is a professional dancer and has worked in various worldwide locations, but thankfully for us is now back on her home ground, as well as being one our team of Zumba instructors she is also teaching the wonderful art of Burlesque.
So get those heels on, and come along, we know you will love it!

Just like you, these ladies started as normal every day women attending a Burlesque class at Studio Z. Now many people have asked if they are professional! They have now been on stage at many of our events and tasters and have many more to come!

Get those feathers at the ready!
Beginners Burlesque will allow you to learn the basic moves, poses and style to ease you into Burlesque with a shimmy and a giggle! Each participant is given the opportunity to perform and shake a taik feather on stage with our very own professional cabaret/burlesque performers 'THE CAN-KANS'. So if you fancy being a Burlesque star for the evening or even just want a bit of a giggle with the girls - why not come along and give this class a go....?

From the B1334 turn off at the roundabout between B&Q and The Fox Cover onto Freeman Way. Turn left after Storey carpets onto Armstrong Way and continue down to Shades of Green Garden Centre which will be on your right. Turn into the carpark of Shades of Green and continue forward through it and up the ramp. Continue forward at the top of the ramp and you will see a unit directly in front of you with a sign on it for Loose Cannons Gym and Studio Z.
Studio Z is located on the ground floor through the double doors next to reception.

MAKE YOU'RE EVENT THAT LITTLE BIT SPECIAL...
What should i wear?
Something comfortable and figure hugging. Our classes attendees tend to wear leggins with a comfy top and heels.
What size heels should i wear?
Not too high- We don't want broken backs from stiletto heels! Try wearing heels that have a small wedge to start with (you can always try using higher ones if you feel comfortable after a few weeks). You may use flat shoes such as trainers also if you feel you can't wear heels.
Do I need to bring costumes?
Feel free to bring feather boa's or gloves to your classes however we do have a few to borrow if you ever need them.
What else do i need?
A bottle of water and even a towel! Just like any other exercise class it can get hot so make sure your well prepared.
